LONDON - ASOS HEADQUARTERS

Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to visit the ASOS Headquarters in Camden, London. The visit included a one-on-one with ASOS staff, including those who are in charge of ASOS Marketplace, who gave us tips on how to make it in the fashion world, and how to start your own boutique on ASOS Marketplace, and what that entails. We were also fortunate enough to have a tour of ASOS Head Office, which included meeting the models (!!!) viewing the catwalk, the wardrobe, hair and makeup, and what happens once the item is online. Everything was rapid and constant. Each studio shoots over 44 garments a day, totaling up to around 400 garments being uploaded onto the site per day! Planning and productivity was essential. It was a truly amazing experience being able to be up close and personal with the products themselves.

MILAN FASHION SCHOOL

During my recent trip to Milan, we were fortunate enough to have a tour around one of the most sucessful fashion schools in the world - instituto Marangoni. We were introduced to one of the course leaders, who gave us a tour of the facilities and told us what it really takes to become a student there. The fashion and design school is based in Milan, London, Paris and Shanghai. The intensive fashion design programme there promotes a multidisplinary approach to fashion design that can open doors to some of the most famous fashion houses.
